Paraneoplastic Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Mimicking Limbic Encephalitis

Abstract: To compare the features of paraneoplastic syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone with those of limbic encephalitis.

“…PNS associated with MCC are poorly described. Only cerebellar degeneration, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, and malignancy-associated hyponatremia have been shown to be associated [3][4][5]. Herein, we report for the first time an inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) associated with MCC with an increased level of antidiuretic hormone in neoplastic tissue.An 86-year-old woman with a history of hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and hypothyroidism was admitted for syncope diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis.…”
