Abstract:Background: First described paravertebral block (PVB) to provide abdominal analgesia in 1905. This technique has been modified for rib fracturing, flail chest, hepatic-biliary operations, open cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia repair, breast tumors operations and thoracotomies.
