Participation of Peasant Mutual Assistance Committees of Kabardino-Balkaria in School Education Formation in the 1920s

Abstract: The article analyses the contribution of peasant mutual assistance committees into rural schools development in Kabardino-Balkaria at the beginning of the 1920s. Relying on previously unknown archival materials the author describes different types of mutual assistance committees’ activity aimed to provide material support to schools: agitation and explanatory work, maintenance and repair of schoolrooms, purchasing school supplies for pupils from their own funds, provision with the necessary literature.
