Patient Characteristics and Prevalence of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) V16A MnSOD Gene in Diabetic Retinopathy Patients at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Denpasar Bali
Abstract:Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a microvascular complication of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) caused by hyperglycemia and oxidative stress that is prevalent to the blindness risk. Manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) gene affect the oxidative damage and progression of DR severity. This study aims to determine the association of patient characteristics on the severity and prevalence of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) V16A in the MnSOD gene in DR patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Denpasar Bali.
