“…One of the benefits of online platforms for service is that physical proximity is not necessary. With this in mind, Veyvoda and Van Cleave (2020) provided useful examples of service-learning projects that could be done virtually (see also Strait et al, 2015) as follows: (a) indirect service-learning projects that engage students in the production of a product for an organization; (b) community-based research that utilizes students’ skills to answer an organization’s research question; (c) projects involving advocacy for an issue or cause related to the course; and (d) public awareness projects that are geared toward educating a community about a particular topic.
