Environmental conservation understanding is one of the crucial factors which determines student attitudes and behavior towards the environment. This study aimed to investigate the effects of problem-based learning and naturalist intelligence on the students' understanding of environmental conservation. This experimental research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Praya which employed factorial design. The first factor was the levels of naturalist intelligence (high and low) and the second factor was learning forms (problem-based and expository learning). Two groups were randomly selected from X-MIPA graders of MAN 1 Praya. The data were collected through tests which then were analyzed using ANOVA at 0.05 significance level. The results of the study indicated that problem-based learning affected the students' understanding of environmental conservation, while naturalist intelligence did not affect it. Furthermore, there were no interaction between these two factors.

Equipping students with proficient environmental problem-solving skills is critical in the 21st century to address pressing global problems. This research explores the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) combined with ecological intelligence as a strategy to increase students' cognitive understanding and environmental awareness. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group design was used. The participants were class XI IPS (Class XI IPS) students from SMA Negeri 1 Karangrejo (n = 5 classes). Purposive sampling resulted in an experimental class that was exposed to PjBL and a control class that followed traditional learning. Data collection was carried out through descriptive tests and observations that were validated and reliable. Two-way ANOVA analysis showed a significant positive effect (p less than 0.05) between PjBL and ecological intelligence on students' environmental problem solving abilities. Interestingly, no significant interaction effects (p greater than 0.05) were detected, indicating the potential dominance of the PjBL structured learning environment. These findings highlight the potential of PjBL as a pedagogical tool to foster environmental literacy and problem solving in geography education

This study was a mixed method sequential explanatory research. This study aimed to obtain information of a relationship between naturalist intelligence and students’ participation in maintaining environmental health and the other factors which influence it. This study was conducted from February to October 2017. The analysis unit was 169 students of one of public junior high school in South Bogor District. Quantitative research results showed that correlation coefficient (ry) between naturalist intelligence and students’ participation in maintaining environmental health was 0,407. This value showed that naturalist intelligence have quite a high contribution to students’ participation in maintaining environmental health. Qualitative research results showed that there are the other factors which can influence students’ participation in maintaining environmental health, such as social interaction with their friends in the home or school environment, students’ understanding of important functions of living things, students’ habit and self-awareness, and guidance from both parents and teachers.
