This study aims to examine the effect of government spending on the economy, social protection, health, and education on income inequality in West Java during 2015-2020. Income inequality in this study uses the Gini ratio. The estimation uses a fixed effect panel data model using the cross-section weight (EGLS) method. The results show that government spending contributes to reducing income inequality in West Java in 2015-2020. Meanwhile, control variables such as GRDP per capita and poverty have a significant effect on increasing income inequality and investment variables have a significant effect on reducing income inequality.

The image of development in Indonesia is getting worse when development progress is felt by the upper class. The segmentation of the upper and lower levels of society is reflected in the gap between life in the village and the city. The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of income inequality based on the classification of villages, cities, and between villages and cities in Indonesia. The data analysis method used is panel data regression which is an analytical technique that is observed over a certain period. The data used is annual secondary data from 2016-2020 in 34 provinces of Indonesia. Inequality analysis is carried out by calculating the Gini index based on household expenditure data. Economic growth, population, human development index, domestic investment, technology development index, and employment opportunities are independent variables. The results of this study found that there was a significant negative relationship the technology development index and positive relationship population in city and between village and city areas. Then the variable employment opportunity have a significant negative relationship to income inequality in the village.

This study investigates the impact of economic growth and the Human Development Index (HDI) on poverty, with Zakat Infaq Sedekah (ZIS) as a moderating variable. This study is quantitative, and the analytical methods consist of panel data regression analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) aided by Eviews 9 data tools. The findings revealed that economic growth has a positive and substantial influence on poverty, whereas HDI has a negative and significant effect on poverty. However, ZIS does not mitigate the impact of economic development on poverty, nor does it modify the impact of the HDI on poverty. This result indicates that the ZIS does not help decrease poverty in South Kalimantan.Keyword: Economic growth, HDI, Poverty, ZIS
