Al-Qiro'ah al-Rosyidah textbook studied by beginner santri (a term for students admitted to study in Islamic boarding schools) in several Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia is due to its simple vocabulary and easy-to-understand word structure character values that are in line with Islamic values. From the textbook, al-Qiro'ah al-Rosyidah, children and adolescents can learn aspects of language and understand the values and norms implied in each text title. This paper aims to explore the character values contained in the textbook al-Qiro'ah al-Rosyidah. The activities described in the book indicate past activities such as farming, gardening, anchoring, etc. which are different from the present conditions. Therefore, it needs contextualization with value activities in the present. This paper is employing descriptive qualitative research with a literature study approach, namely extracting from a textbook. Data collection was carried out through reading and recording, which were then followed by mapping and classification. Critical discourse analysis techniques are used in analyzing the data in this paper. This paper concludes that the textbook al-Qiro'ah al-Rosyidah contains character values that follow Islamic norms, which are reflected in society's life in the past. These values are in the form of patience, trustworthiness, sincerity, responsibility, help, cooperation, respect for others, etc. This study suggests analyzing the same book as a whole for volumes 1, 2, and 3 so that the values extracted are more diverse according to the varied descriptions of past experiences.

The Arabic language has a pattern of information packaging (Theme + Rheme) that is based on Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). This pattern is used as the model for deciphering the information structure in the Arabic headline news. This article investigates information packaging in the Arabic headline news. There are two basic items in information structure, namely (1) Theme (given information) and (2) Rheme (new information). The data used in this article are Arabic headline news from a number of Arabic daily newspapers. Theme has been defined as given information and Rheme is recognized as new information. Some Arabic headline news contains elements of physical and emotional violence. In order to discover the ideological representation of violence in Arabic news, the newspaper reader first needs to know and understand the pattern of information packaging used. The main aim of this research is to elaborate on two basic problems, they are: (1) Information packaging in headline news and (2) Ideological representation of violence in the Arabic mass media. This article also investigates the nature of violence in the Arabic Mass Media. The results of the analysis confirm that the system of Theme and Rheme is an effective tool for unlocking the information structure in Arabic headline news and detecting the underlying ideology of violence in the Arabic mass media.

Arabic language has been spoken in the Middle East area since a long time. It is the Lingua Franca in this area. Many particular job markets such as construction or manufacturing and housemaid in Arab world require high-grade quality of employees and workers. One of the solutions to get the quality upgrading of employee and worker is the comprehensive foreign-language training. The employees have to speak and write Arabic language correctly. They are made to practice the language skill using the WSQA method. The WSQA (Word, Sentence, Question, and Answer) is a new model for creative writing. To get the best quality of mastering vocabularies, a beginner of foreign-language learning can use the WSQA model to improve the quality of writing and speaking. This article tries to offer the solution of quality upgrading of labor demands under the language training using the WSQA model, especially for the Indonesian employees or workers who have the great desire to get a particular job in the Arab world. This article will elaborate two basic problems, first about the implementation of WSQA method in basic sentence (nominal sentence) in Arabic language, and the second is the improving of writing skill using WSQA method for the employee and workers as the attempt on quality upgrading of labor demands.
