Learning outcomes are measures of student results achieved during the learning process. Student learning outcomes are not only influenced by cognitive aspects but also affective aspects, one of which is self-efficacy beliefs. This study aims to determine and describe the effect of applying the POGIL model with the PAVES-PEPS strategy to improve students' self-efficacy beliefs and learning outcomes in physics learning. This study used pre-experimental methods with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The Sample was students of XI MIPA 1 SMA Islam Sidoarjo, selected through the purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used include a self-efficacy questionnaire sheet, questions on learning outcomes, and student response questionnaire sheets to the applied learning model. The results showed a significant difference between students' self-efficacy beliefs and student learning outcomes before and after applying the learning model used. The average value of students' self-efficacy beliefs and learning outcomes has improved. They improved students' self-efficacy beliefs in the medium category and student learning outcomes in the high category. Thus, learning physics using this models affect to improve students' self-efficacy beliefs and learning outcomes.

This article aims to analyze students' critical thinking skills of temperature topic through virtual learning at junior high schools. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. This research was conducted at seventh grade of the junior high school in Bandung, West Java. The instruments used is observation. The collected data were analyzed using Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) to analyze student's dialogue. The results indicated that two out of the twelve indicators of critical thinking skills during virtual learning were developed. The two indicators are focusing on questions and the second is asking and answering questions. The low achievement of students' critical thinking skills is due to the limited time on virtual learning. Which is limited, so that teachers often apply learning method through transferring knowledge. Analysis of student activities and dialogue during virtual learning can be a source of teacher's reflection for making further improvement.

The development of globalization era also has an impact on the change in the world of education. The education which is demanded in the learning process is 21st-century learning. One of the important aspects of 21stcentury learning is requiring the students to have the ability to think creatively. Creative thinking ability of the students in the learning process is not apart from the teachers' role. The description of students' creative thinking ability is measured by conducting an assessment. This research aims to know the characteristics of assessment instruments for creative thinking on crude oil topic (construct validity, reliability, the level of difficulty, and question differentiation). This research used Research and Development (R&D) method which referred to Borg and Gall model. The technique of selecting the samples was Purposive Random Sampling. The research samples were 80 students of Grade XII Senior High School in Pekanbaru City. The technique of data analysis used SPSS Program 24.0. The results of the validity construct for each question is > 0,208 with 18 questions are stated valid, the reliability test is 0,846. The percentage level of difficulty obtained 22,222% questions are categorized into easy, 61,111% questions are medium, and 16,667% questions are categorized into difficult. The percentage of question differentiation obtained 16,667% questions are good, 66,667% is fair, and 11,111% is bad.
