The problems discussed in this study are based on variations in verb meaning in west Papuan speech, namely Irires and Miyah Language. These two languages are in one area in Tambarauw Regency but have different verbs. For this reason, a study of verb and hyponymy categories is needed in morphology studies to identify variations in verb meaning in Irires and Miyah languages. This research was conducted to find out socio-cultural variations in verb meaning in the West Papuan language, namely Irires and Miyah. The researchers used qualitative, in the Iris and Miyah districts of the Tambarauw Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques by participating directly with the Irires and Miyah communities, supported by relevant research references as a complement to information. The instrument was an instrument in the form of a list of questions to record the classification of verb variations in prices and Miyah language. Triangulation methods carry out data analysis techniques by transcribing the results of recording variations in the pronunciation of Irires and Miyah languages which are then represented in good language and understood. The results of the study showed the use of Irires and Miyah eating verbs that resulted in verb structures that have a pronominal persona that has a practical name including {d}, {b}, {a,i,u,e,o}, {g}, {ig}, {m}, {n}, {p}, {t}. Maintaining local wisdom values or traditional values of a culture in the midst of modernization of people's lives today is very important, in addition to providing messages and educational values to the next generation it also has meaning as evidence of history or civilization of human life. This research on cultural values in the tradition of the Lombok community's wedding procession highlights at least three things including; the influence of modernization on the sustainability of culture or tradition, the influence of modernization on the meaning of conveying moral messages and cultural values, and analyzing the shift in cultural values from the perspective of moderate Islam. This research uses a qualitative method. Collecting data by observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the tradition of the Lombok community's wedding procession still exists today, but some of the processions or rituals in it have shifted and lost their traditional values, as well as the meaning of conveying the message of the tradition has been scratched because of the bad influence due to the change of some rituals with their sacred characteristics towards modern

The position of women in the Sasak community is often assumed to be weak by most people inside and outside of that community. A number of social and cultural events have been cited as evidence, ranging from soft voice, slow movement to a passive role in the family and domestic sphere. Wedding and its processes are the site in which women's personal and domestic roles symbolically represent women's actual position in the community. In the Sasak community, the wedding processes are labelled as merarik [elopement] and its stages have resulted in conflicting views on women's position. With more rights for groom-to-be to enact the elopement, women are seen as being deprived of their rights to stay single or to choose the grooms. Being eloped without the consent of woman and her parents led to the view that woman is being stolen, downgrading their level to nonhuman materials and prone to domestic violence. Closer, in-depth investigation to the core cultural ideology always reveals new inside perspectives. This is the merit of the article, investigating the actual position of Sasak women in their own cultural tradition. This paper revisits and reviews the true meaning and processes of merarik and how they have actually framed cultural expectations that they have to achieve in the course of life. Ethnography is used for data collection where Sasak weddings are observed and key informants are interviewed. With content and ethnographic analyses, the study shows convincing evidence that Sasak women have strong bargaining positions, stronger than generally assumed.
