Tubers are a type of plant that is often processed and consumed by people in Indonesia. With the development of the era until now, more and more processed cassava is processed, one of which is grubi. Karanganyar Regency precisely in tawangmangu many MSMEs that produce grubi or walangan. Making grubi is done in a simple way, namely by being chopped manually using a knife. The purpose of this machine design is to produce a semi-automatic grubi chopper machine design with spring spur. The stage in the design of a semi-automatic grubi chopper machine consists of design ideas, data and material collection, design design, component calculation, cutting, assembly, testing and analysis machine. The calculation result of the semi automatic grubi chopper machine shows that the cutting capacity is around 30 kg / hour. The counter mechanism uses an insert cutter system as a counter media with dimensions of a 45x170x5 mm knife holder plate. Optimal chopping results are obtained between 90% to 95% at the angle of the blade 3° with a total of 83 slicing cutters.
