Performance analysis of a microcontroller based slip power recovery drive

Abstract: Slip power recovery wound rotor induction motor drives are used in high power, limited speed range applications where control of slip power provides the variable speed drive system. In this paper, the steady state performance analysis of conventional slip power recovery scheme using static line commutated inverter in the rotor circuit is presented. Simulation of the scheme is carried out using Matlab/Simulink environment and experimental setup is prepared in the laboratory for a 2-hp wound rotor induction moto… Show more

“…Lyublinski [21] studied synergistic corrosion management systems by use of corrosion inhibitors. In continuation to our earlier study [22][23][24][25][26][27], in the present study, the inhibiting properties of Diallylamine (DAA), 1-Benzylamidazole (1-BIZ) and 5-Aminotetrazole (5-ATZ) were investigated on mild steel at 85 % relative humidity and 50 °C by Weight loss test, Salt spray test in a solution of 3.0 % NaCl, Eschke test, SO 2 test, Metallurgical research microscopy and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).…”

“…In power boilers, typical pressure elements are inspected in accordance with applicable regulations, taking into account the operating pressure [31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38]. However, it is important to note that the actual stress on these elements is a result of all the loads they experience, including forces caused by gravity that are 'maintained' by hanger rods.…”

“…The conventional form of SERD scheme recovers part of the energy that would be dissipated in the rotor and feeds it back to the supply through the inverter and thus provides a simple and efficient scheme of ac variable-speed drives [1][2][3][4]. Nowadays, such a system, also known as Static Scherbius system, is widely used for the limited speed range applications such as large-capacity pumps and fan drives, variable-speed wind energy systems and ship-board variable speed/constant frequency system [5].…”
