Performance Analysis of Multi-wavelength Transport Network Employing OXC with Wavelength Converter based on XPM in SMF and MZI

Abstract: Performance analysis is carried out to investigate the effect of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise, interferometric intensity noise from wavelength converter and crosstalk due to WDM components on the performance of an optical multi-wavelength transport network employing wavelength converters based on XPM in a single-mode fiber (SMF) and Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI).
