Performance and Evaluation of Routing Protocols for VANET using NS3

Abstract: In past few years the communication between vehicles has gained a lot of importance. Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) is derived from Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET) which is a best approach for the vehicle to vehicle communication. The existing routing protocols of MANETS are not effectively applied in VANETs. Therefore, VANET supports a few routing protocols, and their performance is evaluated using simulation studies. In this paper, we mainly compare the performance of routing protocol such as DSDV, OLSR and… Show more

“…Author in [15] analyzed DSDV emerged as the most viable option due to its low average endto-end delay. Author in [16] assessed the effectiveness of routing protocols in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) through the use of the ns-3 simulation tool. The study compares the performance of DSDV, OLSR, and AODV routing protocols based on metrics such as throughput, packet delivery ratio, and overhead.…”

“…Among these investigators, he relied on the tool presented in this article and it was useful to researchers and students in this field. Ashwini et.al, (2018) [6] was proposed proactive and reactive routing protocols based on on-demand and table-driven routing protocols such as DSDV, AODV, and OLSR. Therefore, the schedule consists of the real-time schedule and the default scheduler.…”
