The current investigation seeks to assess the efficacy of certain ternary Bi-Se-Ge glasses (BSG) as shielding materials, such as γ-gamma rays. The online Phy-X/PSD programme enables the deduction of several safety factors. This programme enabled us to get the linear and mass attenuation coefficients. The most fascinating findings indicate that these values surpass those of some commercial and traditional glasses in terms of their shielding capabilities. In addition, we have identified several shielding parameters, such as the half-value layer, mean free path, transmission factor, efficacy of radiation protection, and removal cross-section. The discussion also examines the impact of substituting Bi atoms with Se on the shielding capabilities of the original Bi-Se-Ge glass.
