“…Noteworthy that apart from the studies developing and validating these two BDD screening tools, the present search has only found a recent single‐blind cohort study by Spataro et al (2020) using BDDQ‐AS to screen rhinoplasty patients at higher risk for BDD, arguably providing level II evidence 51 . “…To date, no prevalence study of BDD has been conducted in the general population in Iran, but some subpopulations can be compared between Iran and combined samples from other countries. Prevalences seem to be higher in rhinoplastic [36][37][38][39][40], orthognathic [41] and dermatological [42] patients compared to a global sample [18]. In a student sample, the prevalence was somewhat greater in Iran [4.5%, 43] than in a combined sample of different nationalities [3.3%, 18].…”

“…12 The BDDQ-AS has been validated in different languages. 13,14 The Body Dysmorphic Symptoms Scale is a 10-item selfreport measurement assessing psychopathological symptoms of BDD. Whereas the psychometric properties of the original version of the BDSC were not assessed, a recent Brazilian version of the BDSS was validated in a population sample of 80 cosmetic rhinoplasty patients.…”
