“…OCPs are currently less widely used than it used to be, because of a number of disadvantages including environmental persistence, bioaccumulation and their toxic action upon the reproductive and nervous systems (Danzo, 1998;Hellawell, 1988;Yamaguchi et al, 2003). Contamination by OCPs such as DDT, HCHs, HCB has been reported in water, sediment and aquatic birds (Barlas, 1999(Barlas, , 2002Ayaş et al, 1997) foodstuffs (Kannan et al,1995;Singh and Gupta, 2002) wildlife (Ramaseh et al, 1992;Tanabe et al, 1993) drinking water (Badach et al, 2000) human adipose tissue (Ç ok et al, 1998) and human milk (Ç ok et al, 1997, 2004) .
