“…Microscopic analysis of the rediscovered specimens was conducted using a Leica Wild M3C stereomicroscope equipped with a Nikon CoolPix E990 digital camera at magnifications of 4-40×. Identification of manufacturing techniques and use-wear traces was based on observations of ethnographic, experimental and archaeological ornaments (Vanhaeren and d'Errico, 2001, 2017d'Errico and Vanhaeren, 2002;d'Errico and Rigaud, 2011;Rigaud, 2013;Vanhaeren et al, 2013;Rigaud et al, 2014Rigaud et al, , 2017Wei et al, 2016Wei et al, , 2017Cvitkušić, 2017;d'Errico et al, 1993d'Errico et al, , 1998d'Errico et al, , 2017Pitarch Martí et al, 2017;Cârciumaru et al, 2019;Arrighi et al, 2020;Niekus and Amkreutz, 2021). Morphometric data were collected with a digital caliper and rounded to the nearest 0.01 mm; variables include maximum length, width and thickness for each specimen as well as the minimum and maximum diameter of the perforation.…”
