In recent years, there has been a growing interest in traditional medicinal practices such as Ayurveda, which emphasizes the use of natural ingredients for various therapeutic purposes. Vegetable oils are an integral part of our diet and have several applications in the cosmetics and healthcare industries. These oils have also been prescribed in ancient Ayurveda texts to treat various health problems. Ayurveda prescribes a processing technique called ‘Murchana’ to improve the therapeutic nature of the oils. Spectroscopic techniques have been used for quality assessment in many fields. High sensitivity and a low detection rate make spectroscopy a formidable analytical technique. This study focusses on the spectroscopic analysis of sesame and mustard oils prepared using the ayurvedic processing method ‘Murchana’. Spectroscopic analysis techniques including UV-Vis absorbance spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and FTIR spectroscopy were employed to study the oils. Origin software was used to plot graphs of the spectra. The results indicated that the murchana process may reduce the components of the oil responsible for its oxidation, thereby increasing the shelf life of the oils. However, further investigations, including other spectroscopy and chromatography techniques, will prove beneficial in ascertaining the effects of the murchana process on vegetable oils. The study’s findings also suggest that spectroscopic techniques can be used to supplement chemical techniques to investigate the characteristics of vegetable oils.

Background: In this modern era life is full of glamour and faced many health related problem. In modern science there are huge numbers of drugs said for treatment of diseases but these drugs get resistance to that particular disease. Traditionally medicinal plants have been used for many years as topical and internal administration in the treatment of fungal and bacterial diseases. In Rastarangini Gunjadya Taila mentioned in Kushta and Kandu. In Ayurveda all skin diseases are involved in Kushta Roga. Skin diseases mainly caused by microorganism as per modern science such as Staphylococcus aureus, streptococci and Candidiaalbican etc. Hence to provide scientific data and statistical validation the study on pharmaceutical analysis and in vitro antimicrobial activity of Gunjadya Taila prepared by Murchchhita and Amurchchhita Tila Taila is undertaken.Objective: To study antimicrobial activity of Gunjadya Taila prepared by using Murchchhita and Amurchchhita Tila Taila.Material and Method: Gunjadya Taila will be prepared in Rasashastra department by two method one with Murchchhita Tila Taila and other with by using Amurchchhita Tila Taila. The prepared drug Gunjadya Taila will be evaluated for organoleptic characters and physicochemical parameters. Gunjadya Taila will be assessed for antimicrobial effect on gram positive bacteria,gram negative bacteria and fungal group. Inhibition of microbial growth will be investigated by diffusion method.Observation and Results: The data will be assessed for its antimicrobial and antifungal effects by using ANOVA test & unpaired 't' test. Conclusion:This research work on Gungadyataila will show all analytical parameters within range and significant effects on gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Medicated oils are used for external as well as internal administration to treat various disorders. In Ayurvedic literature Murchhana is a procedure carried out on crude oil as treatment to enhance properties of oil. In this study, Chincha Lavan Taila a medicated formulation is prepared by two procedures Murchhita Chincha Lavan Taila (MCLT) and Amurchhita Chincha Lavan Taila (ACLT). This study aims to assess the in-vitro diffusion of Chincha Lavan Taila formulated by processed sesame oil and crude sesame oil. The in-vitro rate and extent of permeability of drug dosage forms are good markers to access the absorbance of the drug. The objective of this study is to evaluate the drug release of both oils by using in- vitro absorbance methodology of Franz diffusion cell apparatus. The in- vitro absorbance was studied in Franz diffusion cell apparatus at pH 3 and pH 8. The samples were collected and analysed under UV spectrophotometer to note absorbance of oil at different wavelength. It was noted that in the buffer solution of pH 8, there was maximum absorbance of all the samples. This experimental study shows that both formulations have well sustained absorption through gastrointestinal tract. The results indicate that the rate of absorption exhibited to be higher in MCLT compared to ACLT. This work helps to develop a new method to evaluate intestinal absorption and compare formulation for therapeutic efficacy and drug absorbance.
