“…We proved [5] that the mechanisms of the analgesic effect of propoxazepam involve the dopaminergic system, NMDA receptors, alpha-1 adrenoceptors, as well as GABA receptors. Regarding the mechanism of anticonvulsant action of propoxazepam, it is due to its interaction with GABA-and glycine receptors [2,6]. The compound is considered a promising drug and undergoes the necessary preclinical trials, so it is important to determine its possible side effects, which will prove the safety of use in the future.…”

“…Propoxazepam, 7-bromo-5-(o-chlorophenyl)-3-propoxy-1,2-dihydro-3H-1,4-benzo dia zepine-2-one, showed significant analgesic activi ty in the models of nociceptive and neuropathic pain [1], and is currently being tested in clinical trials. Similar to gabapentin and pregabalin, well-known anti-epileptic drugs used in general medical practice in the treatment of neuropathic pain, propoxazepam also has an anticonvulsant effect [2,3], which ex-plains the analgesic component of the pharmacological spectrum.
