“…The increase in the blood GLU and LACT concentrations demonstrates a response to metabolic stress (Wendelaar Bonga 1997). Our findings agree with those of Pahor-Filho et al (2017), Oliveira et al (2019a), Oliveira et al (2019b), andSadati et al (2021) who also detected an increase in the glucose or lactate concentration in Serrasalmidae (pacu, dog snapper) and beluga (Huso huso) following an LHC treatment. In contrast, an LHC treatment was reported not to affect the glucose concentration in tambaqui (da Silva et al 2021) and juvenile pacu (Sado et al 2010).…”

“…In aquaculture, the dose-dependent effect of levamisole has been suggested, and it seems that the drug mainly affects the innate immune system. Levamisole was well absorbed after oral administration (100 mg/kg) for five consecutive days reducing stress indicators such as cortisol levels and promoting the immune system in belugas [28] . Pahor-Filho et al [29] also reported that 15 days of oral administration of levamisole reduced cortisol levels amid stress responses and promoted immunity against Aeromonas hydrophila infection in fish ( Piaractus mesopotamicus ) [29] .…”

“…Plasma LVM and FNB were determined by high‐performance liquid chromatography with UV detection, using established methods (Rummel et al, 2011; Sadati et al, 2021; Tabari et al, 2020). Both methods were revalidated in turtle plasma according to the EMEA bioanalytical method validation guidelines (Anonymous, 2009).…”
