Phonic Game as an Approach to Improve Letters Recognition Skills

Abstract: The first LINUS screening of reading has shown that the year 1 pupils at a rural school were struggling in grasping the basic literacy skills in reading,letter recognition. The purpose of this action research was to investigate the phonic game intervention in improving the letters recognition skill.This action research focused on 9 pupils of seven years old of the native tribe (Iban) of a school in rural area of Kapit.
