“…The pseudo-first-order model assumes that ionic diffusion is the rate-controlling step of the adsorption process, while the pseudo-second-order model assumes that chemical adsorption is the rate-controlling step involving electron transfer and sharing between the adsorbate and the adsorbent. 49 The related equations are as follows.…”

“…To investigate the interaction between Ma-COM and Pb( ii ) at adsorption equilibrium, the Langmuir model (eqn (3)) and Freundlich model (eqn (4)) were employed to fit the absorption balance data of Pb( ii ), respectively. 27,28 where, q e (mg g −1 ) and q max (mg g −1 ) represent the equilibrium and maximum adsorption of Ma-COM, respectively; C e (mg L −1 ) and K L represent the equilibrium concentration of Pb( ii ) and the Langmuir constant, respectively. K F ((mg g −1 ) (L mg −1/ n )) denotes the adsorption constant of Freundlich; n denotes the adsorption strength between Ma-COM and Pb( ii ).…”

“…Thus, SA molecules in an aqueous solution were adsorbed to the edges of the β-CD cavity through electrostatic interactions. 34 The peaks at 2974 and 1460 cm −1 in the spectrum of NIPAM are caused by asymmetric stretching vibration and asymmetric deformation of N−H. The peak at 1650 cm −1 belongs to the first-order amide CO stretching band in PNIPAM-co-β-CD-AC.…”
