Continuous synthesis of organomagnesium compounds by the reaction of magnesium with haloalkanes RX (R = Et, n-Bu, n-Oct, c-Hex, Ph; X = Cl, Br) in a stirred column-type apparatus was studied. The effects of the solvent, solvating solvent to RX molar ratio, and temperature in the reaction zone on the RX conversion and yield of organomagnesium compounds was examined.
