Photodegradation of dye acridine yellow on the surface of mesoporous TiO2, SiO2/TiO2 and SiO2 films: spectroscopic and theoretical studies

Abstract: Electronic spectra and LDI mass spectra changes accompanying photodegradation of acridine yellow (AY) adsorbed on the surface of prepared via templated sol-gel synthesis TiO 2 , SiO 2 , and TiO 2 /SiO 2 mesoporous films have been investigated and the main photodegradation products have been determined. The results of calculations show the adsorption energy of the molecular state of AY to be the greatest for the complex with titania-silica where Lewis acidic sites are present, the smallest one being related to … Show more

“…In addition to RhB, other dyes have been reported to exhibit blue spectral shifts upon irradiation. These dyes include Rh6G [ 30 ], PyB as an analogue of rhodamine dyes [ 31 ], Fl [ 32 ], AY [ 33 ], AO [ 34 ], and TR [ 35 ]. These dyes were selected for further investigation in this research as promising candidates for the synthesis of photoconvertible labels.…”

“…Gauss-Sum program was used to obtain the density of state (DOS) plots [41]. The B3LYP has been demonstrated to be a reliable and commonly used functional in the study of different nanostructures [42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49]. We have defined adsorption energy in the usual way as:…”

“…Тому вирішено спростити задачу, використавши як об'єкт дослідження димер -(ГЕМА) 2 , механізм взаємодії якого з кремнеземною поверхнею може характеризувати взаємодію з поверхнею усього полімерного ланцюга. Як метод дослідження обрано квантовохімічне моделювання, яке служить допоміжним підходом до встановлення будови адсорбційних комплексів органічних сполук на твердих поверхнях [14][15][16][17].…”
