Physical aspects of cnoidal waves in non-thermal electron-beam plasma systems

Abstract: The effects of electron beam and non-thermal electrons on ion-acoustic cnoidal waves (IACWs) structure in a two-fluid plasma system are investigated. A Kappa-Cairns type distribution is assumed for the background electrons. The Korteweg–de Vries (K-dV) equation is obtained by employing reductive perturbation technique and the analytical solution of K-dV equation is derived by employing the Sagdeev pseudo-potential approach. It is seen that in the presence of the electron beam, four modes can exist in this plas… Show more

“…Unfortunately, more recent studies of cnoidal waves in plasmas have ignored these facts, where conservation of number density has been completely ignored. Examples of this can be found in Saini & Sethi (2016), Ur-Rehman, Mahmood & Hussain (2017), Tolba et al (2017), Singh et al (2018), Liu et al (2018), Farhadkiyaei & Dorranian (2018, Kaur et al (2018), Ur-Rehman, Mahmood & Kaladze (2019), , Ali et al (2020), Tamang & Saha (2020) and Mehdipoor & Asri (2022). “…Under certain conditions, the combined Kappa-Cairns (CKC) distribution (Debnath and Bandyopadhyay 2020) can be formulated by considering the Cairns distribution and the Kappa distribution in the background. Many authors (Aoutou et al 2008;Abid et al 2015;Debnath and Bandyopadhyay 2020;Saini et al 2022;Shahzad et al 2022;Kaur et al 2023;Mehdipoor 2022;Mehdipoor and Asri 2022;Roy et al 2022;Sarkar et al 2023) have studied the basic properties of CKC distribution as well as the propagation of nonlinear waves in plasma system comprising of the CKC distributed particles. The combined effects of Kappa distribution and Cairns distribution as a form of non-Maxwellian distribution have been introduced by Aoutou et al (2008).…”
