Physiological, biochemical and HSP70 and HSP90 gene expression profiles of tropical abalone Haliotis squamata in response to Vibrio alginolyticus infection

Abstract: Vibrio spp. have been known responsible for fish diseases in marine and brackish‐water systems in the tropics regions. Heat shock proteins are a highly conserved protein group that is known for its rapid response to environmental stresses, including infection. This study aimed to investigate physiological and biochemical responses of tropical abalone Haliotis squamata to Vibrio alginolyticus infection. Abalones were infected with V. alginolyticus by intramuscular injection at a dose of 105,106,107 cfu/abalone.… Show more

“…It has been proven that excess TSS exposure can increase intracellular ROS (reactive oxygen species) which ultimately causes oxidative stress in aquatic organisms [40,22]. As mentioned previously, HSP is an important component of various detoxification, antioxidant and stress tolerance pathways [41,42]. We hypothesized that HSPs may also play an important role for cells to overcome stress caused by media contaminated by Vibriosis bacteria [42].…”

“…As mentioned previously, HSP is an important component of various detoxification, antioxidant and stress tolerance pathways [41,42]. We hypothesized that HSPs may also play an important role for cells to overcome stress caused by media contaminated by Vibriosis bacteria [42]. In this study, four TSS gradients (0 mgL -1 , 50 mgL -1 , 100 mgL -1 and 150 mgL -1 ) were designed using seawater in a 100 L aquarium to examine the gene expression profiles of two HSP types under TSS stress from low to high doses.…”

“…MrHSP70 mRNA expression is signi cantly ampli ed in diet-supplemented conditions. It is essential to the stress tolerance by the promotion of growth under heat stress responses (Yasa et al 2020). The previous studies as a protein associated with molecular stress, MrHSP70 can help sustain cellular homeostasis as well as natural peroxidase activity, which is responsible to accelerating the transformation of reactive oxygen species.…”

“…In the present investigation MrHSP90 Heat shock protein in crustaceans. It is crucial to stress tolerance because it encourages development in response to heat stress additionally, we identi ed that the prawn muscle, a key immunological site in prawns, had low expression of MrHSP90 (Yasa et al 2020). The current investigation reveals a substantial downregulation of MrHSP90 mRNA expression in lower expression of MrHSP90 is observed in diet-treated conditions than in control groups which indicated the diet-induced immunity in treated prawn groups.…”

“…The prawn can achieve a length exceeding 30 centimeters or approximately 12 inches. While the dominant hue is a shade of brown, the color can differ, especially among the younger prawns, which can exhibit a greenish tint and subtle vertical lines (Yasa et al, 2019).…”
