Phytochemical Analysis of Symphytum officinale Root Culture Extract

Abstract: Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) root preparations are known for their analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study, the phenolic profile of extract samples of Symphytum officinale callus root cultures (up to 70% of ethanol) was determined using various approaches. For the first time, a unique polymer of two types was isolated from samples of comfrey root cultures (the caffeic acid derivative is a new class of natural polyether with 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl) glyceric acid as a repeating unit). M-metho… Show more

“…и этических проблем актуален альтернативный способ получения данного углеводорода, например, с использованием биотехнологических методов in vitro [1,20,29]. В ранее опубликованной работе авторов установлено, что экстракт корневой культуры in vitro окопника лекарственного (Symphytum officinale) содержит значительное количество сквалена [10]. В работе S. Potijun [21] в качестве продуцента сквалена использовалась микроводоросль Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.…”

“…The biological variables that affect the therapy's effectiveness include the temperature and surface area of the skin as well as local blood flow. 5 In this study, 126 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee joints underwent iontophoresis with newly developed gel containing symphytum officinale & indomethacin gel, followed by an exercise protocol. The patients' pain, physical function, sleep quality, and gait patterns were all evaluated.…”
