Saline soil is an increasing global problem. Augmented levels of salt content in agricultural soils impart negative influences on germination, plant growth, and reproducibility. It also affects various biological processes, viz., nutrient balance, photosynthesis, respiration, membrane properties, metabolism, cellular homeostasis, enzymatic activity, and hormone regulation. All these changes lead to the assembly of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and in extreme stress plant death. This chapter shows how to face this problem using halophytes.
