This article deals with the issue of a partial problem in the sustainability and availability of public transport using the example of a specific transit node. In every public transport network, it is the transit nodes that can be a threat to the entire transport system in case of a bad design. The article presents a microsimulation traffic model of a transit node, which was created in the PTV VISSIM/VISWALK program. This model was tested by various traffic loads (i.e., normal loads, loads taking into account the extension of the tram network and loads at extraordinary sports or cultural events). As part of the evaluation of the monitored node, the movement of passengers on pedestrian areas, escalators and staircases was analysed. The obtained results demonstrate the importance of monitoring, for example, the Level of Service, average travel times and pedestrian speeds and other parameters, to ensure the functionality of this construction. The use of traffic models can be crucial, as they can be an invaluable aid and a suitable tool in finding the optimal transport solution that respects the requirements for sustainable and accessible public transport.

The experience of European cities shows that with the introduction of free-fare public transport, the share of public transport trips increases insignificantly, while the number of trips by individual transport, bicycle and on foot decreases. The most common way to reduce the number of trips by private cars is to introduce parking fees and regulate the tariff. The paper examines the impact of public transport fare paid parking fees on the transport demand structure. The structure of transport demand is determined using simulation modeling on a transport macro-model of a large city with a population of 800 thousand people that do not have off-street transport. The paper proposes a criterion for determining generalized costs of travel by different transport systems, which converts monetary costs into time fares. This made it possible to take into account the costs of movement by different types of transport (private and public transport, CarSharing, taxi, pedestrian and bicycle movements). With the introduction of paid parking fees up to 80 rubles per hour, the share of private transport trips reduced from 45.5% to 37.3%. With the introduction of free public transport, private transport trips share reduced to 39.9% with a significant increase in the costs of the municipal budget.

The development of Jogja Outer Ring Road (JORR) has been issued by the government as one of possible alternatives to deal with traffic jams. The ring road has occupied the existing road with an extension of 7 meters to seize 14 meters. In the future, ring road will pass through 22 districts in 3 regencies. In this study, there were 4 main streets, i.e. Solo-Jogja street, Kaliurang St, Magelang St, and Palagan Tentara Pelajar St, set as the objects of comparison to the existence of JORR, which was analyzed three probabilities, namely 1) without JORR, 2) JORR of government route, and 3) actualized JORR with alternative route. As a result, V/C ratio of four surround roads with JORR were better. Additionally, with alternate JORR the result was much better until 5 more times. In the opposite, there were 3 roads surrounds that had more performance than the existence of JORR. Based on this study, the V/C ratio of Solo-Jogja St in front of the eastern part of Kalasan district as the north part, it decreased for about 8.79% if JORR was actualized and 60.78% if JORR was actualized with alternate road. At the western part, there was increased performance of 6.55% if JORR was actualized and 49.42% if JORR was actualized with alternate road. At southern part, there was raised performance around 16.25% if JORR was actualized and 5.27% if JORR was actualized with alternate road.
