Plant stimulants and horticultural production

Abstract: Plant stimulants is an organic substance and micro-organisms, used by small quantities, Biostimulants categorize according to their nature, modes of action, and types of effects on crops, there are main groups of plant stimulants include Protein hydrolysates, Humate substances, Seaweed extracts, Biopolymers (Chitosan and other polymers), and Microbial biostimulants like mycorrhizal, non-mycorrhizal fungi, Rhizobium, and Trichoderma. Horticulture crop production facing several challenges particularly abiotic s… Show more

“…These natural compounds can directly provide plants with mineral nutrients and influence their hormone biosynthesis and homeostasis, resulting in improved growth and development [ 62 ]. In horticultural production, phytostimulants have been shown to promote plant growth, increase stress tolerance, and enhance fruit quality [ 63 ]. Using phytostimulants from natural origins offers a more eco-friendly and sustainable approach to plant growth and crop production.…”

“…2,3 There are different methods used to improve salinity tolerance, such as grafting with resistance rootstocks, different practices to improve tree growth and productivity under salinity stress are required. In addition, elevated CO 2 , 4,5 shade screen under field conditions, and using various substances such as plant biostimulants, Plant growth regulators (PGR) is considered an essential practice to enhance a tree's tolerance for various abiotic stresses, increase yield crop, and improve fruit quality. 6 This review focuses on the impact of salinity on citriculture and the main practice required maintaining citrus growth and productivity.…”
