Poly(9,10‐anthrylen)e

Abstract: Based on a previous work the polymerization mechanism of anthracene was studied and it was found that the initial reaction step is represented by the formation of a radical ion.Poly(9,lO-anthrylene) was prepared in order to study the relevant properties with respect to its technological applicability. Pure poly(9,lO-anthry1ene)s even of relatively low molecular weight (about 3000) are infusable and nearly insoluble.
