Posterior hypothalamic theta rhythm: Electrophysiological basis and involvement of glutamatergic receptors

Abstract: The posterior hypothalamic area (PHa), including the supramammillary nucleus (SuM) and posterior hypothalamic nuclei, forms a crucial part of the ascending brainstem hippocampal synchronizing pathway, that is involved in the frequency programming and modulation of rhythmic theta activity generated in limbic structures.
