Power allocation for downlink multiuser hybrid NOMA‐OMA systems: An auction game approach

Abstract: Nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is viewed as one of the key enabling candidate for the fifth-generation systems. The effectiveness of such networks heavily relies on the power allocation. This paper addresses the problem of power allocation in a downlink multiuser hybrid NOMAorthogonal multiple access (OMA) network, where NOMA is integrated into OMA. Users with strong channel conditions are paired up with the users having weak channel conditions based on a random mechanism. Further, user pairs compete in … Show more

“…Different PA techniques have been proposed for maximising the capacity rate and total power [ 129 , 130 ]. PA based on expenditure or cost is explained using graph theory [ 131 , 132 , 133 , 134 , 135 , 136 , 137 ]. In Ref.…”

“…In Ref. [ 135 ], the authors proposed an auction-based game design by bidding on the transmitting power. The spectrum scarcity issues in both licensed and unlicensed bands for NOMA were discussed in Refs.…”

“…And for system power allocation is often solved by water injection method, graph theory method, game theory, convex function solving method and intelligent optimization algorithm. In [11], to make the power allocation algorithm simple, the authors aim at maximizing the system energy efficiency by selling the transmit power with the base station as the seller and letting the strong and weak user pairs that have been successfully matched compete with each other as buyers. The paper accomplishes power allocation in a simple and feasible way while guaranteeing a fair average and rate for the user pairs.…”

“…Hybrid NOMA: Integrating hundreds of millions of gadgets via an underlying BS gets challenging due to restricted orthogonal substances with exceptionally reducedlatency mobile communication in situations of minimal SNR. Therefore, the NOMA strategy is inappropriate for this circumstance [171][172][173][174][175]. To overcome this issue, an integrated MA that relies on a combination of NOMA and OMA approaches offers an improved approach to linking massive equipment in IoT settings, D2D and M2M connections, etc.…”
