This paper presents a design and fabrication of a wideband high power stripline directional coupler. The coupler has 50 dB coupling in the frequency range of 30 to 520 MHz. The design method consists of two steps. At the first step, a stripline coupler is designed by combination two directional coupler and connecting the through ports to each other. Then miniaturizing technique is used to compact the dimensions. At the second step, two lumped-element filter compensating circuits are used in series with the coupling and isolating ports of the coupler to flatten the overall coupling response of the coupler over multioctave frequency bands. This coupler is fabricated on Rogers 4003 substrate with dielectric constant of 3.55. The dimensions of the coupler are 25 × 28 mm 2 which are very compact considering its operation frequency. The measurements have a good agreement with predicted results which is verifies the feasibility of the directional coupler.
