Abstract: Recent developments in local public finance management in Slovenia indicate the local governments’ growing interest in introducing participatory budgeting as a decision-making tool, wherein part of local resources are used with citizen participation. “…From a CEE perspective, it is interesting to compare our findings with the results of some other research conducted in CEE settings. For example, Klun and Ben cina (2021) investigate a set of factors that affect the probability of adopting PB in Slovenia using a quantitative analysis approach. According to their findings, the length of a mayor's tenure, together with their experience and organisational competencies, can be considered as important positive determinants for the adoption and further implementation of PB initiatives.…”

“…Our results show that local governments are more likely to adopt or implement PB if they are in a better financial position. Apostolou and Eckardt (2022), based on exploratory cluster analysis and confirmatory mean analysis, show that the adoption of the PB process is more likely in municipalities with financial problems.…”

Klun and Benčina [2021] investigated the impact of political factors, sociodemographic factors, economic factors, and the ability of municipalities to predict a dichotomous dependent variable from a set of predictor variables using binary logistic regression. They used 36 indicators, showing that 6 affect the PB.…”

“…Nevertheless, there is no legal basis for the management and delivery of public complaints. The public is an evaluator and controller of agencies / apparatus as the implementation of regulations (Klimovský et al, 2021;Klun & Benčina, 2021;Rustiarini et al, 2019). Public service is an issue that always colors people's daily lives.…”
