“…our study, unlike most previous research investigating LARC knowledge, attitudes and usage 14 , included men, who were found to be less likely than women to have heard of LARC, perceive it as reliable and consider its use. Dempsey et al 22 also surveyed men as well as women, all of whom were unmarried young North American adults engaging in heterosexual sex, and found that men were more likely than women to have low knowledge of intrauterine contraception. Dempsey and colleagues attributed their results to the fact that women are the primary users of LARC and that men may receive little contraceptive education.…”
