“…Modified Mallampati classification is a widely used tool for predicting difficult airways, and a Mallampati score of III or IV is considered a good predictor of difficult intubation [ 45 , 46 ]. For instance, previous studies by Adnet et al [ 47 ] and Oria et al [ 48 , 49 ] showed greater difficulty in intubating patients with Mallampati III and IV, decreased thyromental distance, reduced mouth opening or other anatomical abnormalities than patients without any predictive factors of intubation difficulty.
