Preparation and Adsorption Performance of GF/EPDM/LLDPE Foaming Composite for Petrol

Abstract: In our study, a new kind of material for petrol adsorption was prepared by melt blending and molding foaming with EPDM and LLDPE as the matrix and modified glass fiber (GF) as the filler. LLDPE as the second matrix can improve the matrix reinforcement, the composite cross-linked network density was reduced, but the oil absorption rate was increasing. After recycling three times, the oil absorption rate GF/EPDM foaming composite and GF / LLDPE / EPDM foam composite were changed little, the internal cell structu… Show more

“…[19][20][21] In the context of using only the EPDM elastomer matrix and other elastomers, shrinkage and cell collapse typically occurs due to the relatively low specific strength of the elastomeric matrices that result in deterioration in the final foam properties. [22][23][24] The incorporation of fillers or additive can improve these foam properties. Several fillers, such as glass fibers, 22 clay, carbon black, 23 organo-layered double hydroxide, 24 halloysite, 25 zinc oxide nanoparticles, 26 barium titanate and multiwall carbon nanotube, 27 silica fume, 28 aramid fiber, 29 etc.…”
