Preparation and characterization of antibacterial poly(vinylidene fluoride)-silver composites

Abstract: Poly(vinylidene fluoride)-silver (PVDF-Ag) composite films were synthesized by in situ reduction of silver nitrate using N, N-dimethylformamide as solvent and reductant simultaneously. The effects of silver on the thermal property and crystal structure of PVDF were characterized using differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction. The mechanical properties and morphology of the composite membrane were characterized using a material testing machine and scanning electron microscopy. The toughness of th… Show more

“…The strongest peak of the α phase is stated to be 766 cm À1 . [64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74] As a result of all of this, crystalline phase analyses and crystalline phase percentages were investigated in the presented study using FTIR measurements FTIR analyses were conducted for each sample to specify the degree of crystallinity of the β phase content. Figure 8 shows the FTIR spectrum of each electrospun PVDF and PVDF/BaTiO 3 nanofibers.…”

“…Due to the strong hydrophilic effect of amino group (-NH 2 ) in its molecule, and the carbon-carbon double bond in the molecule can participate in the free radical polymerization of polycarboxylate superplasticizer, it has a high water reduction rate and a low water secretion rate. Tang Xiusheng et al synthesized acrylamide polymers using acrylic acid and acrylamide as the main raw materials, which have good thickening, wrapping, and reducing bleeding rate of concrete [9] . 2-Acrylamide 2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) molecule contains multifunctional groups such as carbon carbon double bonds (-C=C-), amino groups (-NH 2 ), sulfonic acid groups (-SO 3 H).…”
