Preparation and pH Stability of Ferrous Glycinate Liposomes

Abstract: Ferrous glycinate liposomes were prepared by reverse phase evaporation method. The effects of cholesterol, Tween 80, ferrous glycinate concentration, hydrating medium, pH of hydrating medium, and sonication strength on the encapsulation efficiency of liposomes were investigated. Encapsulation efficiency was significantly influenced by the different technique parameters. Ferrous glycinate liposomes might be obtained with high encapsulation efficiency of 84.80% under the conditions of optimized technique paramet… Show more

“…The particle size of empty liposomes was 120 nm, while those containing iron had a slightly larger average size of 137 nm. Similar results have been obtained previously with ferrous glycinate and salidroside‐loaded liposomes . In these studies, the size difference between loaded and empty liposomes was attributed to the neutralization of the electrostatic charge of iron‐loaded liposomes, leading to aggregation.…”

“…28 The anticancer agent, DOX was used as a model drug to estimate the drug loading and release behavior of the PPNM. The rise in temperature was also monitored using a high resolution infrared (IR) camera (Thermal Imager Testo 875-1), and analyzed by a thermography software (Testo IR Soft Software, version 3.1).…”
