Preparation of Alumina From Retorting Residue of Oil Shale

et al.

Abstract: In this research, the leaching and preparation of Al 2 O 3 from retorting residue of Fushun east open-pit oil shale in China were investigated. The optimum acid leaching conditions are the following: activation temperature is 850 ºC, activation time is 1h, the particle size of the raw material is 0.074mm, the concentration of acid is 12%, the liquid to solid ratio is 5:1, reaction temperature is 100 ºC and reaction period is 1.5 h. The homogeneous chemical precipitation method was applied for the preparation o… Show more

“…The increase in removal rate of the cations could be as a result of high kinetic energy in the system which speeds up the rate of reaction on the surface of the clay. The same trend was reported by others (Numluk and Chaisena, 2012;Xu et al, 2012;Philips and Wills, 1982). Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis.…”

“…The stability of formation can be divided into four ranks according to the value of SSI: high stability (SSI>90 mm), moderate stability (SSI=60~90 mm), low stability (SSI=30~60 mm), weak stability (SSI <30 mm). SSI of shale samples, with an average of 19.99 mm (<30mm), showed shale formation of Shahejie group in Jiyang depression has poor stability [13].…”
