Preparation of inverse opal zirconia

Abstract: Inverse opal zirconia is useful in many ways because of their ability to combine several chemical and physical properties. In this research, polystyrene template was fabricated by self-assembly method and inverse opal zirconia was prepared by colloidal crystal-templating method. The process of preparation of inverse opal zirconia as well as effects on morphology and phase of as-prepared inverse opal zirconia were studied. The results showed precursor ratio of zirconium acetate and methanol, mass ratio of polys… Show more

“…Before modification, when a bunch of natural light irradiates on the surface of the sample, the wavelength which in the stop band is not allowed to enter the sample to be reflected, and the light of the residual wavelength could enter the interior of the sample and the reflected light and the background reflected light of the final forbidden band part are received by the human eye [17,18]. Among them, the background light of stray light could reduce color performance of the sample, and the carbon produced could adjust the weakening degree of the background light, so as to adjust the proportion of the visible light component of human eye.…”

“…Fine grained partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) ceramics have been widely employed and studied for nearly four decades [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. Generally, in ceramics field, both mono-phasic and multiphasic ceramics present distinctive features and have been employed in many different fields, from structural ceramics, nuclear functions, biomaterials, energy materials, etc.…”

“…Generally, in ceramics field, both mono-phasic and multiphasic ceramics present distinctive features and have been employed in many different fields, from structural ceramics, nuclear functions, biomaterials, energy materials, etc. [1,8,[10][11][12]. In zirconia, the most employed dopants are yttrium, cerium, calcium and magnesium, but other cations are also used (La, Gd, etc.).…”
