“…The Wenzel and Cassie–Baxter states are two main models used to explain the behavior observed under droplets on rough hydrophobic surfaces. In the Wenzel model, a droplet is in contact with the entire solid surface and completely penetrates into the cavities, while in the Cassie–Baxter model, , a droplet is suspended on the surface features and the air bubbles are trapped in cavities on the rough surface. Samples showing CA values higher than 150° and very low SA values (not more than 10°) can be considered as superhydrophobic.…”

“…40 Many researchers have exploited MoS 2 in the field of oil/water separation in recent years, and have achieved some progress. [41][42][43][44][45] Guo et al 44 reported the MoS 2 -ODA (octadecylamine)-Fe 3 O 4 @PU composites via simple ultrasonic loading-drying cycle technique, which exhibited the WCA of 161.64 and adsorption amount 60-109 wt wt À1 with the MoS 2 solution concentration of 0.2 g * 50 mL À1 . Furthermore, because of the presence of MoS 2 , MoS 2 -ODA-Fe 3 O 4 @PU has superior photodecomposition capabilities, making it suitable for the photodegradation of organic pigments in wastewater.…”

“…Shen et al developed a dipping-UV curing method to fabricate superhydrophobic coating by using vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane and 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane modified molybdenum disulfide. [32] Liao et al proposed a dipping-UV curing approach to fabricate superhydrophobic hybrid coating on the surface of polyester fabric for oil/water separation by using (3mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane modified graphene oxide and vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane. [33] However, these coatings have poor self-cleaning performance due to the absence of PDMS.…”
