“…Most of the research concerning pavements functionalization was devoted to the impact evaluation of the processes under the mechanical and rheological points of view [12][13][14], dope the semiconductor nanoparticles or combination with other materials to increase the photocatalytic efficiency [15,16], analyze the anti-aging effects [13,17], monitor the air quality and quantify the degradation of gases in real scale [18,19], and evaluate the NO x depolluting performance by computational simulation [20].…”

“…Photocatalytic asphalt chip seals reached a NO photocatalytic efficiency of 31% [16]. TiO 2 /polystyrene-reduced graphene oxide (TiO 2 /PS-rGO) retards the thermo-oxidation and UV-aging of asphalt binders [17]. The photocatalytic efficiency is lower on asphalt mixtures (functionalized by asphalt binder modification) than on cement matrix materials (functionalized by bulk incorporation) due to encapsulation of the nanoparticles by the asphalt binder.…”

“…The results indicated that the TiO 2 /PS-rGO exhibited excellent UV absorption; the modified asphalt binder TiO 2 /PS-rGO/SBS showed a much better anti-UV aging performance and increased storage modulus and loss modulus. Therefore, the modified asphalt binder improved the elasticity and recovery rate and reduced the creep resistance and high-temperature rutting resistance if compared to pristine SBS-modified asphalt binder [ 30 ].…”

“…The results showed that EG/CaCO 3 /MH had a synergistic inhibitory effect on the thermo-oxidative aging of asphalt cement. Yang, J et al [ 24 ] evaluated the UV-aging resistance of titanium dioxide/polystyrene reduced graphene oxide (TiO 2 /PS-rGO) on SBS modified asphalt. It was found that the viscosity aging index and ductility retention of the TiO 2 /PS-rGO/SBS-modified binder were decreased by 65.36 and increased by 8.79, respectively, which indicates that the UV-aging resistance of the binder was improved by TiO 2 /PS-rGO.…”
