Early exposure to cultural heritage is necessary to preserve it from extinction. One form of cultural heritage that is now on the brink of extinction is the Terengganu brassware craft. Current young generations are mostly not interested in this heritage. Furthermore, intangible heritage in the form of knowledge and skills are only stored in the memory of the practitioners. Lack of documentation has led to the sole reliance on practitioners such that the knowledge is lost upon their demise. Hence, intangible heritage knowledge has to be acquired and stored in a knowledge base system to keep them in a systematic and permanent form. Manipulating and transferring the knowledge and skills will also ensure the continuity of this heritage, and ensure it can be accessed by future generations. This paper discusses the development of the knowledge base of Terengganu Brassware Craft as a digital preservation of cultural heritage. Knowledge acquisition was carried out using interview and observation techniques. Then, the knowledge is represented using ontology. This knowledge, in digital form, can be manipulated and disseminated to the community to ensure the continuity of the knowledge.

In order to protect the intangible cultural heritage, digital technology was applied. Problems in the protection of intangible cultural heritage were analyzed. The specific measures were put forward. Based on the theory of knowledge visualization, information space, virtual reality and experience economy, the digital protection of intangible cultural heritage was studied. The related concepts of intangible cultural heritage and digital were introduced. The results showed that digital technology could protect, inherit and innovate the intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, digital technology plays an important role in the protection of intangible cultural heritage.

Speakers of oral tradition are one of the determinants of the continuation of the tradition in the community. At present various aspects of people's lives cannot be separated from the internet and social media. Then what about the speakers of the oral tradition? Can they bring oral traditions to exist and be enjoyed by society in this era? For this reason, this paper will explain various forms of social media use by speakers related to the expertise of their oral traditions. The object of research is Minangkabau oral tradition and three speakers on social media Instagram and youtube which have indeed been active and exist on both social media. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observations on social media and interviews with some speakers of oral traditions. Based on the research, the speakers use social media is not currently aimed to bring oral traditions to be enjoyed by the people who use social media. This means that the presence of the internet, multimedia, and social media technology has not become a means of strengthening and inheriting oral traditions in the Minangkabau.
