Prevalence of herpes virus in chronic periodontitis patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract: Background: Unfavorable modifications of tooth and its surrounding structures result in periodontal complications. Viruses, in specific herpes virus, are known to increase disease severity in periodontal patients. Periodontitis is known to be more established in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) patients.
