“…Factors such as educational status, history of pregnancy, number of pregnancies, age at first sexual encounter, age at menarche, number of sexual partners, contraceptives use, history of STIs and history of STIs treated in these past 12 months were not associated with HPV infection in our study, although in other studies, the factors were strongly associated with among population at risk HPV infection [31, 40, 51, 52]. The explanation of such inconsistency may indicate the role of high risk partners.…”

“…Then, 16 HPV types (6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66 and 68) were detected with the MassARRAY (Sequenom, San Diego, CA) technique based on matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of flight mass spectrometry [42]. All of the procedures were performed in the clinical standard laboratory of Beijing Genomics Institute.…”

“…HPV detection and genotyping were performed using a MassARRAY platform (Sequenom, Sandiego, CA, USA), i.e., matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of flight mass spectrometer, as previously described (14,15). HPV DNA samples were extracted from the cervical specimens using a commercial magnetic beads kit (Chemagen, Pekinelmer, Waltham, MA, USA) in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and amplified through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology.…”
