“…In the large bowel, MALT lymphomas are mostly localized to distal bowel, rectum, and anus [8]. Histologically, of all the gastrointestinal lymphomas, a vast majority (35-44%) is constituted by low-grade marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of MALT type, followed by primary extranodal diffuse large Bcell lymphoma (DLBL) (22-45%) [9], DLBL plus MALT lymphoma (17%), DLBL without MALT lymphoma 22%, follicular lymphoma (5.9%), and T-cell lymphoma (9%); while other forms such as Burkitt lymphoma (1.3%), mantle cell lymphoma (0.4%), plasmacytoma (0.4%), and lymphoblastic lymphoma (0.8%) are exceedingly rare [5].…”

“…M Svrcek et al [19] found p53 positivity in 51.85% of small intestinal adenocarcinoma. Krugmann et al [20] reported p53 overexpression in 75% of small intestinal lymphomas. These differences may be due to the use of different scoring system and inter-observer variability.…”

“…Ge C et al [17] in their study showed that the degree of p53 protein expression was significantly correlating with the grade of the tumour cell differentiation, invasion, metastasis and prognosis. According to Krugmann et al [20] and Ming Qing et al [21] p53 overexpression in small intestinal lymphomas is a critical factor in the transformation of low grade MALT lymphoma and the overexpression also indicate the aggressive behavior of high grade tumours.…”
