“…Austin et al used LA-ICP-MS to obtain quantitative elemental bio-imaging from biological soft tissues by using metal spiked polymethylmethacrylate films that had been spin-coated onto quartz substrates as calibrants. 298 The films contained concentrations of Cu and Zn of between 0 and 400 mg g À1 and the calibration curves produced from the determination of 63 Cu and 66 Zn yielded correlation coefficients of better than 0.999.
